Innocence
Like the art of antiquity, this demure reclining Dachshund has leaves taped modestly over her nipples. The leaves are from the maple tree to honor my New England heritage. Look closely, and find a biscuit and a tennis ball in the woodwork of the loveseat as well as a dachshund pattern in the upholstery.Â
CLEVER GIRL
Dachshunds were originally bred to hunt badgers, so they’re known for their bravery and intelligence. Perhaps that’s how they’ve wiggled their way into our hearts (and our homes, and onto our couches) with their long bodies and impossibly short legs. Innocence tells the tale of a dachshund born for long days snuggled up on the couch. The original painting resides in the men’s lounge in a mansion owned by a dog judge. Where will you hang yours?
This is an international award-winning print.
